Team Guyana Visits Kingston Koker To Get Ideas About Building Gear Systems
Georgetown, Guyana: June 1st, 2017 — Members of Team Guyana today visited two kokers in Guyana to observe how the kokers used gears to efficiently open and close their massive doors. The robotics team had been experiencing some trouble attempting to build a ‘pull up’ system to lift the robot off of the ground. Because of the weight, the motors were ineffective at efficiently pulling up the robot and several motors had been rendered useless. After observing the gears on the koker system, two members of the team designed the new gear system while two others implemented the new design. STEMGuyana is pleased to announce that the new system works perfectly. Team Guyana rocks!!!!
