STEMGuyana & Partners Work With Matthews Ridge Primary School To Launch Robotics Club
A team of trainers from STEMGuyana Trainers were invited to Matthews Ridge in region one to train multiple club leaders and students in Scratch coding, robot building and programming, managing a STEM club and joining the national robotics league.
The event was held at the ICT hub in Matthews Ridge which was made possible by the Ministry of Public Telecommunications. The program will run on Saturday May 18, and Sunday May 19 and will see nearly 300 students and club leaders prepared to participate in a national program designed to prepare the students of Matthews Ridge to participate in the Technology future which awaits them.
Team leader Aisha Peters stated that, “the program at Matthews Ridge is simply amazing, the students are learning quickly and the coaches are anxious to learn as much as possible in order to ensure that the youth of Matthews Ridge are able to fully participate in the development of their region, additionally, participation will allow the student teams to represent their region in the national STEM challenge.” It is expected that more than 6 teams will represent Matthews Ridge in the national league.
